Change is good. Change is good. Change is good.
Yeah, keep telling yourself that.
As writers we need a strict daily routine to get work done. It’s crucial we manage our time, between working, school, kids, family, chores, sleeping, eating.
That’s the way things are with me anyway. Sometimes it becomes boring and mundane. I often get in ruts, where my material suffers. Recently I’ve had some personal things change. And my writing schedule is on the brink of change.
I’m scared. But I must remember change is good — Change is good.
It’s been about 14 months SINCE I’ve been writing everyday. In the majority of those days, I write in the morning — 8am sharp, I’m at my desk. That’s not the case anymore. There have been changes to my daily schedule.
I have options here. It’s going to be a challenge. I’ve pondered it over. But whatever happens, I will have to adapt in order to get work done. At first it may seem different.
There’s a certain mood I wake up with every morning before writing. I’m ready, my mind is ready — so it makes it easy to jump right in.
With my writing time possibly changing, this ability to jump right in could be difficult.
I have no idea what the future will hold. I do know, that whatever these changes will bring, I will write. That’s a promise you have to make to yourself when change comes.
That’s why I had a routine in the first place. To get work done.
Change is good. I’m ready to take it head on.
Always be writing. Everyday.
